Introduction to Handguns
Level: Brand New

CFI’S flagship training course and the perfect way for a curious novice to find out which handgun is right for you. 1.5 hours of hands-on instruction and live fire training designed to take a student with little-to-no handgun experience and make them a safe and competent basic handgun marksman with a wide range of firearms to help them decide what handgun may suit them best.

Price/Student: $70 + cost of ammunition

Basic Pistol
Level: Beginner - Intermediate

BASIC PISTOL is a 1.5 hour course designed for shooters of any experience level who want to fast track their familiarization with a new firearm platform. Whether you’ve just bought your first firearm and you’re brand new to handgun shooting, or you’re a lifelong “revolver guy” purchasing your first Glock, Basic Pistol tailors shooting fundamentals to you and your new firearm. From Firearm Safety, to disassembly & maintenance, to the fundamentals of marksmanship, you will shorten your learning curve of any new platform, and reinforce (or learn) the fundamentals of marksmanship along the way. Basic Pistol is also the introductory course for any student new to training with CFI looking for individual private instruction. First time students will also receive a class recap video highlighting their work and showing them areas of excellence/improvement.

Individual Private Lessons
Level: Beginner - Advanced

1 hour increments of live-fire instruction tailored to each individual shooter’s personal needs. From basic fundamentals, to more advanced shooting and marksmanship, if you have a skill you need to hone, CFI can develop lessons for you.

virginia concealed carry class

VA Concealed Carry Course
Level: Novice +

You want to apply for your Virginia Concealed Carry Permit. The VA Concealed Carry course is an excellent class on the parts of a handgun, handgun safety, basic marksmanship, safe gun storage, and the real life truths of owning a firearm and Carrying Concealed. This course combines 4.5 hours of classroom and range time to teach, reinforce, and test basic handgun knowledge & safety. While experience is not required to attend this course, if you are brand new to firearms (never handled a gun/shot before) we do recommend you join us for a Handgun Intro course (or Basic Pistol course if you already have your own firearm) for some 1 on 1, in-depth, hands-on instruction on handling, safety and marksmanship to help demystify the process and build confidence handling the tool prior to attending your CCP Course. Again, this is not a requirement/prerequisite for the CCP Course.

Upon successful course completion, students will receive a certification to submit with their application for their Virginia CCW Permit.

Price/Student: $110 (50 rounds of Ammunition for shooting qual. Not Included)

Personal Firearm Recommended, not mandatory (free loaner firearms available by request made PRIOR to class date.)

Intermediate Pistol
Level: Intermediate - Advanced

CFI Offers our students a variety of invitation-only intermediate/advanced courses designed to build and test the skills necessary to carry a firearm safely and effectively in the real world. Contact us below for more information.

Topics covered: Quick target acquisition, engaging multiple targets, point shooting, target re-engagement, situational awareness, rapid loading and reloading skills, rapid fire, drawing from a holster, drawing from concealment, close contact shooting, malfunction management, cover and concealment, and more.

No, the concealed carry course will give you your Certificate of Completion that you then have to take to the court and use to apply for your Virginia Concealed Carry Permit.

ABSOLUTELY. Private lessons basically mean that you won’t be in class with anyone you don’t know. We downright encourage families or close friends to learn to shoot together.

Right now, no. We’re scheduling each class personally to maintain control and make sure all of our students’ needs are being met. With how chaotic schedules are these days, it is the best option for us at the moment. Shoot us an email and we’ll call you ASAP to schedule the best class for you and your schedule.

Heck NO! We’ve got it all available for you no charge, just be sure you let us know you’re going to need it for class.

We’ve taught students from 10 – 80+ years of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by an adult, no exceptions. The adult doesn’t have to pay and participate in the class if they don’t want to, but they must be present.
